About  Jennifer

I’m a Swiss photographer specializing in wildlife, conservation, nature, and travel imagery, with a focus on protecting our flora and fauna. Over the past few years, I have traveled extensively and embraced the lifestyles of Pura Vida and Aloha. Two different cultures, yet sharing the same vision — to have a positive impact on our environment. That’s Kauwelita. Through my work, I aim to inspire and encourage others to develop a deeper, more holistic understanding of how to live in harmony with nature and wildlife.

I currently live in Switzerland with my husband Caleb and our son Liam. I successfully completed my degree in Communication & Visual Design in the summer of 2023. I am fluent in (Swiss) German, Spanish, and English. My husband shares my love of nature and passion for photography — especially drone photo- and videography. We still have big dreams and look forward to seeing where our path takes us in the coming years.

One of our future plans is to move to Costa Rica, where my husband is from. We have bought land in the Arenal region to build a house for us someday. We also want to get involved in nature and wildlife conservation. For now, we are working toward making our dream come true.

My Photography Gear

I have always worked with Nikon cameras. I bought my first Nikon in 2010, and at the end of 2018, I switched to the mirrorless Z system and full-frame. Since then, I’ve been using my Nikon Z6 camera. One of my absolute favorite lenses is the Z 70–200 mm, which is an all-rounder and, paired with the 2.0 teleconverter, works great for wildlife photography. Besides my Nikon gear, I also use our DJI Mavic Mini 3 Pro drone for capturing shots from different angles.

For our  Future

As a wildlife and nature photographer, I often encounter difficult topics such as plastic pollution and coral reef damage caused by sunscreen. Because I want to do something positive for myself, my family, and the planet, I have taken a close look at the products I use every day. Unfortunately, it’s alarming to see how many everyday products contain harmful ingredients that damage both the environment and our health. I want to raise awareness and promote a conscious approach to our health, environment, and resources.

For this reason, I became a Ringana partner. With Ringana sunscreen, I use a product that protects my skin from intense sunlight without harming the environment. Ringana does not use microplastics, preservatives, fragrances, or other harmful ingredients. If you’d like to learn more about Ringana products or their business, please feel free to contact me.

I also want to highlight the importance of choosing local and reputable providers when traveling. Choose eco-tourism rather than mass tourism, respect and support local communities, and maintain a safe distance from wildlife to ensure an unforgettable travel experience. This approach helps preserve our wildlife and environment for future generations.
